Dance Teams
If you are ready to take your dancing skills and commitment beyond that of our regular studio classes then it may be time to consider joining one of our competitive teams! Our teams are for ages 4-18. Tryouts for Competitive Teams are every they end of May or early June every year. Those who participate on our Dance Team will get to experience dance at a new, fun level!! Their confidence, friendships and skills will flourish!! Dance Team Member's Commitments
Class/Practice Time Commitment
- Team members will be required to remain on the team from June 2025 through May 2026.
- Team members will be required to attend all of their weekly, (Team, Ballet, Technique) and extra classes throughout the dance year.
- Team members are required to attend class on time and stay for the entire class.
- Each team member will be allowed to have 3 absences throughout the year per class.
Performance/Competition Commitment
- Team dancers will perform at Christmas Performances, the Grand Spring Recital and two-three local competitions in the spring.
- Other performance dates may arise throughout the year that team dancers will be required to attend.

Competition Fees: Varies
Competition Fees vary based on the competition. We estimate the cost to be around $100 per competition per dancer (solos, duos or trios different fees).
Please note, tuition prices listed are based off the current Season’s Tuition rates. They may be slightly different for the upcoming season. Accurate tuition rates for the upcoming season will be provided before tryouts at the Parent Meeting.
Team Policies
- Tuition MUST be paid in full up to the current date of any given competition or performance in order to compete.
- All financial commitments are non-refundable and due by the dates given through the parent portal.
- All payments need to be made through the Parent Portal. Other accommodations may be made by contacting Janese Botelho, Motions Office Director.
- Drop Out Fee: $200 – If a student drops out before the season is over, all of their financial commitments listed are still due. They will also owe an additional drop out fee.
Routines
- Each elementary team will compete two dances at each competition. Middle School and High Schoolers will compete three dances at each competition. All Teams will learn Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical or Contemporary.
- Each team will Participate in our Production Number for the Grand Spring Recital. Team Members are expected to Perform Production in all Recital Shows.
- Competition pieces will also perform at Christmas and the Grand Spring Recital.
Acro Team
Light Benders!
General Information for our upcoming Season with our Acro Teams
Acro is a style of dance. Prospective Team Members must have both experience in dance and performance in addition to great tumbling/acro skills to be considered for our Competition Team. We currently have one Acro Team composed of students from 3rd grade and up. A second team may be created depending on numbers at tryouts.
- To be considered, Team Members must have the skillset to be in Acro 3 or 4
- To be considered, Team Members must have a minimum skillset of a Level 2 in our Ballet and Technique program.
- Performance skills and showmanship will be taken into consideration. While not required, previous experience on a competition dance team is highly recomended.
- You do not have to participate on another Motions Team to be on an Acro Team, but there will be requirements in order to participate if you are not on another Motions Team.
- Teams will perform one number at Christmas and Spring Recitals as well as 3 local competitions.
- Acro Teams will meet 1 hour per week
- Tryouts are during our Dance Team Tryouts
